UMRAE set up stands and organised activities during the Science Festival at its sites in Nantes, Lyon and Strasbourg.
In Nantes: at the Université Gustave Eiffel campus – on 9 October for students and on 10 and 11 October for the general public.
You’ll be able to find out about our work there. Whether through the ‘Mission 17 dB’ escape game or a simple tour, you’ll learn how we study the noise around us.
- Address – Allée des Ponts et Chaussées, 44344 Bouguenais

In Lyon: I-Factory Lyon 1 Science Village – 8 to 10 October
A workshop on the NoiseCapture smartphone app awaits you. Developed by UMRAE and the CNRS, it enables everyone to contribute to mapping environmental noise. ‘NoiseCapture Party’ sessions will be held continuously: a presentation of the app, installation and calibration of the app on participants’ phones, exploratory walks, and discussions around the collaborative maps updated in real time. Alongside this, mini-quizzes to raise awareness of the effects of environmental noise will be offered to participants, as well as a demonstration of artificial intelligence tools for recognising sound sources.
- Address: 10 Avenue Jean Capelle Ouest, 69100 Villeurbanne
